ALI'S PERSONAL MESSAGE

Dear Friends,

Well I think spring is finally here.  I’ve seen a Robin and patches of grass.

It’s been a long winter but we made it through with the help of some great

new quilting projects.  We’re continuing to get in new fabrics and kits daily.

Beth has been working very hard on our website so be sure to check that out.

www.theicehousequiltshop.com is the address, she has lots of patterns, books and kits and is adding more daily.  We’re real excited about this and hope you will be too.

With spring comes our new class list and we have some great ones for you.  The

class Open House is May 3rd from 11-2.  We’ll have our class models out for you

to see.  As always when you sign up for a class on this day you’ll receive a discount

on your class supplies and get your key tag punched.

We have a special mother-daughter purse class scheduled for May 10, what a great opportunity to spend some time together.

We continue to have our Serger, Mastery and Sew-n-Sews classes, check the newsletter for times and dates and remember you don’t have to have a Bernina to join in these classes.

Pam will be teaching a hip new re-styled shirt class as well as her painting and

stamping class.  If you haven’t seen Pam’s work in our boutique be sure to check it

out the next time you’re in.

Margie is teaching several of her famous classes again, her classes are always lots of fun.

It’s hard to believe, but our 28th Birthday is coming up June 21st.  Come help us celebrate with a cookout from 12-2.  June 19-23 we’re having a Bernina scratch off promotion.  Come in and get your scratch off card and receive 20-75% off a machine or software.  Give us a call for more details, what a great time to

buy if you’ve been thinking of a new Bernina.

Pam Holland will be back July 13-17.  On the 13th we’ll be taking a day trip to Mackinaw Island where Pam will help you take photos for you to later design a quilt from.  Pam is also a photographer so she knows all the ins and out of photography.  We’ll come back to the Days Inn Sunday evening and on Monday and Tuesday you’ll design and make your quilt.  Also on Wednesday and Thursday we’re offering a

finishing up class for those of you who have taken a class or classes from Pam in the past and just haven’t gotten to finishing those projects, here’s your chance.  Pam will help you complete them.  These classes are filling up fast and we have a bus that will seat 22 so we’re limited on space.  Sign up soon!

The Icehouse is sponsoring a Relay For Life Walk team this year.  The walk is July 19-20, if you’re interested in contributing to our team or if you’d like to walk please let us know, we’d love to have you.

Our annual Quilt Sitters Quilt Show is July 25-26 this year.  This is always a great show, there’s lots of talent in this group.

Our Sidewalk Sales will be August 9th.  If you haven’t come to this in the past this is a great sale. We clean out the whole store for this and there’s lots of great deals.

Well I’m running out of room and there’s so many more events and classes happening so be sure to take time and read through the whole newsletter, you don’t want to miss anything.

I’d like to thank all of you for your continued support of The Icehouse.  I truly feel blessed to be able to be apart of something so fun and wonderful.  I love my job, if you want to call it that. I’d also like to thank The Icehouse Staff.  Without them The Icehouse wouldn’t be what it is today.  They’re not only staff they are my friends.

                                                                      Blessings

Our Quilt Sitter's group membership has grown by leaps and bounds to over 100 members, with an average of 75 quilters attending the bi-monthly meetings at The Icehouse. We had planned on ending this group in 2007 but with so many still interested,we decided to bring it back!During Quilt Sitter meetings we learn new techniques, discuss quilt ideas and receive complimentary patterns.  We share projects we've been working on.  Show & Share!  Pattern and fabric challenges, mystery quilts and more are all a part of Quilt Sitters.  But most important we share a camaraderie that could far exceed your expectations. Rainbow Kids

School-age boys and girls can have fun investigating all the neat things  they can do with fabrics.  The program will continue through the year; each session will be self-contained, and we'll start by making rainbows.  Additional sessions during the coming year will include painting fabrics, making journals, experimenting with unusual fabric media.  We'll go where the participants imaginations lead us, and we'll utilize the skills of other Icehouse teachers.  It's a great way to entertain visiting grandchildren, and to give kids a chance to use their creativity in new ways.

Sew and Share Days

Sew and Share Days at The Icehouse are days that we reserve the classroom for YOU! Come on in...bring in a project...applique...quilting... Share the laughter.  Share ideas.  Make new friends. You might choose to come in and use the extra large tables to layer and baste your quilt.  Bring friends and sew  together.  Perhaps just to visit for a cup of coffee.  Whenever you have a question, you can get assistance from The Icehouse Staff.  We'll make every effort to assist you in achieving your goals for the day. Jot the dates on 'your' calendar. Give us a call if you want us to reserve a table for a layer and baste project.

The AuSable Quilt Guild
Meets at The Grayling Township Hall, M-72 W, on the first Wednesday of the month.

A stamp collector doesn't use his stamps to mail letters.
A coin collector doesn't use his coins to buy Cokes.
Why should I use my fabric collection for anything???
