BELLA’S COUNTY FAIR W/MARGIE AUG 11 MON 10:30-4 $25 Margie tells us about Bella's County Fair Quilt: Bella was my grandfather's local telephone operator back when you needed a switchboard to work the phones. I still remember our ring, it was two short and one long. Bella also ran a small "mom and pop" store. She was also not above listening in on conversations. I remember going down to the store and seeing her with her head set on and a quilt in her hands. She would always say this is the quilt that will win first prize at the County Fair.

Shhhh, here's our special little quilter's secret: We'll free-motion machine quilt the mats from the back using the big print as our guide. That way we can bypass the step of marking quilting lines. These mats make wonderful gifts! They are Cathy's own design, so no pattern purchase will be necessary. Beginners welcome. What a wonderful way to use up some of your stash and make room for more. You start by sewing a block together and then slashing or cutting it apart, mixing it up and sewing it back together again.
